1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Catarina International LLC, doing business as Intercode ("Intercode," "we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, intercode.dev (the "Site"), contact us through it, or book a call with us.

Intercode is a software consultancy that works with businesses. This policy covers the Site only. When we work with a client, the handling of client data is governed by the written agreement we sign with that client.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

When you send us the contact form, we collect the information you enter:

• Contact details: your name and work email address
• Company details: company name and company size
• Project details: what you want to automate or build, and your expected timeline

Along with the form, we record the Site language you were using, the page you sent it from, and the date and time of submission. If you email us directly at hello@intercode.dev, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

When you contact us, we also record how you arrived at our site (for example, the campaign link or referring website) to understand which channels work, and store it with your message.

This attribution information can include campaign parameters in the link you followed (such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, or ref), the first page you visited on the Site, the website that referred you (without its query string), and when you first arrived. It is kept in your browser's session storage for the current browsing session only and is sent to us only if you submit the contact form.

2.2 Booking a call

Our "Book a call" links open a booking page hosted by Google Calendar. If you book a meeting, you provide your details (such as your name, email address, and any notes you add) directly to Google, and we receive them as part of the calendar invitation. Google processes that information under its own privacy policy.

2.3 Information collected automatically

• Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the Site is used, for example which pages are visited, the referring website, and general information such as country, browser, operating system, and device type. It does not use cookies. We also record a few anonymous events, such as clicks on booking buttons and contact form submissions, together with the Site language and any campaign parameters from the link you followed.
• Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring URL, and the date and time of the request. These logs are used to operate and secure the Site.

2.4 Cookies and browser storage

The Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses:

• NEXT_LOCALE cookie: remembers your preferred language (English or Portuguese) so we show the Site in that language on later visits.
• Session storage (ic_attribution): holds the attribution information described in section 2.1 for the current browsing session. It is not a cookie and is cleared when you close the browser tab or window.

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you do, the Site will still work, but it may not remember your language choice.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Respond to your inquiry and send you a confirmation email with a link to book a call
• Prepare for and hold the calls you schedule with us, and discuss a possible engagement
• Understand which channels and pages bring people to us, and improve the Site
• Keep the Site secure and working, and prevent spam and abuse
• Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the law requires a legal basis for processing personal information (for example, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law, LGPD, or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR), we rely on:

• Steps you request before a possible contract: answering your inquiry and scheduling and holding the calls you ask for
• Legitimate interests: understanding how visitors find and use the Site, keeping it secure, and running our business, always balanced against your rights
• Legal obligations: when we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law
• Consent: where the law requires it; you can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us

5. How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to provide their services to us:

• Vercel: hosts the Site, processes form submissions and server logs, and provides our cookieless analytics
• Resend: delivers the emails generated by the contact form (our notification and your confirmation)
• Google: provides the calendar booking page and the email and calendar tools we use to communicate with you

We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Intercode, our clients, or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

6. AI processing

When our work uses AI models, we only use platforms that do not retain the data we send or use it to train their models. We have hands-on experience building and operating systems under HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements.

7. Data retention

We keep contact form submissions, emails, and booking details for as long as needed to respond to you and manage our business relationship, including any engagement that follows. When the information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, unless we must keep it longer to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Server logs and analytics data are kept by our hosting provider for limited periods according to its retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 10).

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. The Site is served over HTTPS, access to the information you send us is limited to the people who need it to respond, and we work with established service providers. If a form email cannot be delivered, a copy of the submission may be temporarily recorded in our hosting provider's logs so that your message is not lost.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International data transfers

Intercode is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are located outside the United States, including in Brazil or the European Union, your information will be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. When the law requires it, we rely on the transfer mechanisms it allows, such as contractual safeguards offered by our service providers.

10. Your rights

10.1 All visitors

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

10.2 Brazil (LGPD)

If you are in Brazil, under the LGPD you have the right to:

• Confirmation that we process your personal data, and access to it
• Correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data
• Anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, or data processed in breach of the LGPD
• Portability of your data to another service provider, as regulated
• Deletion of data processed based on your consent, subject to legal exceptions
• Information about the public and private entities with which we share your data
• Information about the possibility of not giving consent and the consequences of refusing
• Withdrawal of consent at any time
• Objection to processing carried out in breach of the LGPD

10.3 European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

10.4 United States

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10.5 How to exercise your rights

Email us at hello@intercode.dev. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) in Brazil or your local data protection authority in the EU or UK.

11. Children

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links

The Site links to third-party websites and services, such as our Google Calendar booking page and LinkedIn. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top.
